Friday 4th May

Today I used my personal day so that I could spend the day with Matt. At 9am I had arranged for a driver to pick us up and take us to Fragrant hills which was about an hour away. It was another really hot day, 33 degrees! We were discussing whether to hike to the top of Fragrant hills or to get the chair lift up, but that discussion soon ended when we saw the hill! The chair lift took 20 minutes to get to the top so it would have taken us all day to walk it! The views were really good, you could see for miles and there was a cool breeze at the top which was much needed. We looked around the spectacle lake and a cave with a waterfall, then took the chair lift to the top of the hill. After looking round we got the chair lift back down and went to look at the Azure Clouds temple which was up another slope but was well worth the visit. We were looking around Fragrant hills for three hours and then called our driver who took us to the Pearl market for some souvenirs.

After the market we went to Sanlitun and back to Carmens, the tapas restaurant we both love and had a really nice meal there. We then came back to Houshayu and had been out for 9 hours but had both had a really nice day.
