Tuesday 6th September

Had a pretty good day today doing assessments with grade 1A and 2C in the morning, then in the afternoon I had my first class activity in Science making a collage of a plant which was fun and the kids seemed to enjoy it. The final lesson of the day was introducing the class project of an endangered animal where the class were given pictures of endangered animals in different countries e.g. India = tiger, China = panda and south Korea = deer. The comment of the day had to be when one of the kids held up the picture of a deer and said “this deer is weird, it doesn’t have a red nose” I couldn’t stop myself from laughing!

I got back to the apartment to wait for a man to come and connect a router so that we could have wifi while Analisa then went to the market to get a new set of keys cut. Not long after the internet man arrived, I realised that we needed a Chinese extension lead as we only had one socket, but as Analisa had left with the keys, I couldn’t leave the apartment! So I sent the surprised looking internet man out on his bike to buy an extension lead with a drawn map to the nearest shop!

Jodie and Milzie came round and we ordered an Indian (quite hard when the only address you have is in Chinese characters) the take away phoned us back an hour later saying that they couldn’t find our apartment, I had to run down to the security gate and ask the guards to direct them to us, we finally got our takeaway although I still have no idea how to say our address!
