Wednesday 7th September

Another day of assessments at school today for grades 1A and 2C. There is an American teacher at the school and I kept bumping into her and every time she kept saying “I just love hearing you talk” After school I went out for a meal with a few of the teachers which was nice and then I went to the corner shop to try and buy my train ticket for next weekend. The man who speaks English wasn’t there so I had to try and explain what I wanted by using my phrase book and then I phoned one of the Chinese teachers to act as a translator to book my train from Beijing to Zhengzhou next weekend. I’m wasn’t sure if I actually was going to get the right ticket as there is a laptop set up in this shop and the man looks at a timetable, I paid and then the man said my ticket would be there in 1 hour and that he would phone me. If I hadn’t been told what to expect by another teacher it would seem all a bit dodgy to me. I didn’t get a phone call so I m going back tomorrow after school.

As I was writing this I saw a gecko run out of Analisa’s room and under the fridge in the kitchen, going to sleep with my door closed tonight!
